Why Kids Yoga?
Our children live in a busy and stressful world which can have a profound influence and effect on their lives.
When children learn techniques for self-health, relaxation, and inner fulfillment, they can navigate life's challenges with a little more ease.
Their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness are enhanced. Their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation is also improved.
Yoga allows them to develop a healthy relationship with the natural world that surrounds them but yoga for children is quite different than yoga for adults. It offers many possibilities to teach them to live mindfully and lay the foundation for a lifelong practice that will continue to deepen throughout their life. The children cooperate and become actors of the stories with their bodies and minds, they discover the world on their own through imagination and child play. Through yoga and by providing a loving, responsive, and creative environment, they uncover their own truths.
When they stretch like a mountain, balance like a ballerina , breathe like a lion, or stand strong and tall like a tree, they are making a connection between their environment and their body. Children begin to understand that we are all made of the same matter, just in different forms, and they begin to understand the importance of living in harmony with each other, with nature.
As your children’s yoga teacher I become a facilitator who guide them while simultaneously letting them invite me into their own world of wonder and exploration. The learning process will be continually reciprocal and provide an opportunity for everyone to create, express themselves, and grow together.
